Liverpool are sounding RB Leipzig out over an eye-watering €100million (£86.8m) bid for Yan Diomande, talkSPORT understands.

However, the German club are believed to be holding out for €120m (£104m) for the star winger, who is at the World Cup with the Ivory Coast.

Diomande underlined why Europe’s biggest clubs are chasing his services this summerGetty

Shine bright like a Diomande

Diomande made a dazzling start to this year’s tournament with a man of the match display as the Ivory Coast ran out 1-0 winners over Ecuador in their Group E opener.

It continued his upward trajectory since joining Leipzig from Spanish side Levante last summer.

The 19-year-old ended the 2025/26 campaign with 13 goals and 10 assists for Leipzig across all competitions.

His impressive performances for the Bundesliga club prompted several clubs across Europe to keep tabs on the electric winger.

Liverpool had ear-marked the teenage whiz as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who left the Reds at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Manchester United and Tottenham were two other clubs credited with an interest in Diomande.

To the Victor go the spoils

Should Liverpool open up their wallet to meet Leipzig’s asking price, Diomande would be their second major arrival this summer.

The Reds have already confirmed the signing of Spain international Victor Munoz, who is with La Roja at the World Cup.

Liverpool landed Munoz after they triggered his £34m release clause.

Munoz’s switch to Anfield represented a major blow to Premier League rivals Newcastle.

The Magpies were in advanced talks with Osasuna to sign the winger, only to be pipped by Liverpool.

Munoz represented the first signing under new Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola, who replaced the sacked Arne Slot.

Who else could join Liverpool this summer?

The former Real Madrid product is highly unlikely to be the only fresh face through the door at Anfield this summer.

Along with the Diomande interest, Liverpool have also held talks with Lille over midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The 18-year-old looked wise beyond his years for Morocco in their draw against Brazil, delivering a midfield performance that had former World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit waxing lyrical.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is another name on Liverpool’s radar.

Barcola, a left winger, is believed to be keen on an exit from the Parisians.

However, Liverpool are likely to face serious competition from Arsenal for Barcola as the Gunners are in the market for a new left winger.
