Jose Mourinho giftwraps ideal €100m midfielder for Liverpool

Big changes are coming to Liverpool’s midfield this summer.

We could see Alexis Mac Allister move on for example - with the Argentina World Cup winner only under contract until 2028. No talks currently exist over a new deal and without an agreement the 27-year-old’s transfer value is going to head south.

In a similar boat - and with an even shorter contract duration - is Curtis Jones. Out of contract in 2027 - and with no new deal on the horizon - the England international is set to be sold to Inter Milan.

That would open the door for Richard Hughes and Andoni Iraola to enter the market for a high-quality midfield replacement.

Tchouameni has got no guarantees at Real Madrid

And according to a new report in TEAMtalk developments at Real Madrid could giftwrap a long-term target for Liverpool.

Aurelien Tchouameni, 26, has been with Los Blancos since 2022 - when he turned down a move to Anfield in favour of the Bernabeu.

Having won two Champions League titles the time has come for the France international to leave.

Liverpool and Manchester United on alert

Madrid have informed the midfielder that his long-term prospects at the Spanish capital club are in doubt - with Liverpool and Manchester United now reported to be on alert.

It’s claimed that the Reds and their North West rivals have been in contact with Tchouameni’s camp ahead of the window opening.

Tchouameni is seen inside Anfield as an immediate upgrade - with complications arising in the chases for domestic targets likes Alex Scott and Adam Wharton.

No space at the Bernabeu for Tchouameni

Madrid have completed the signing of Bernardo Silva from Manchester City and look set to land Enzo Fernandez on a big-money deal from Chelsea. Chases are also live for Mateus Fernandes and Rodri.

That would squeeze Tchouameni ever further down the pecking order under the incoming head coach. With so many new players coming to the club sales will be necessary and in that context Tchouameni fits the bill.

Tchouameni has two years left on his deal with Madrid valuing their player at around €100m. That is a lot to ask but for that money Liverpool know they would be signing one of the very best midfielders around with a proven pedigree.
