PSG to rival Liverpool for Yan Diomande as Luis Enrique eyes Barcola replacement

Ivory Coast forward Yan Diomande has become one of the hottest prospects on the market, with half the clubs in Europe vying for his signature.

At the moment, Liverpool are believed to be leading the race to sign the RB Leipzig star, but TyC Sports reports that Paris Saint-Germain could provide serious competition for the Reds.

Diomande’s stock has gone through the roof over the past year, making him one of the most talked-about prospects across the continent.

His impressive performances have put interested clubs on red alert, although Leipzig are heavily reluctant to sanction a move, having just brought him in last summer.

The Bundesliga side spent around €20 million to sign him from CD Leganes. 

However, Diomande’s valuation has skyrocketed, surging higher than any other player across Europe within the same timeframe.

While they’re aware of the growing interest in the Cote d’Ivoire international, Leipzig haven’t named a price for their most valuable asset.

Interestingly, they’ve already turned down a stunning €100m bid from Liverpool. 

While the Reds have refused to throw in the towel in the race for Diomande’s signature, they’re already exploring other alternatives.

Diomande’s performances have given Liverpool fans plenty to anticipate if their side can finalise a deal.

The 19-year-old helped Leipzig secure a third-place finish in the Bundesliga last season, notching 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 games across all competitions.

He also created 17 big chances in the Bundesliga last term, averaging 1.7 key passes per 90 minutes.

Diomande has managed to keep his foot on the gas heading into the World Cup. 

He arrived as one of the tournament’s must-watch teenagers and so far has delivered even though he’s yet to open his goalscoring account.

While he’s focused on helping his nation qualify for the knockout stages, negotiations about his future are simultaneously taking place behind the scenes.

Diomande is seen as a long-term replacement for Salah, but PSG are looking to scupper that deal.

The French champions are open to parting ways with Bradley Barcola this summer and are ready to launch a move for Diomande as his replacement.
