Vinicius Jr. reacts as Raphinha suffers worrying injury setback: ‘We hope it’s not serious’

Brazil star Vinicius Jr. has shared his support for Barcelona forward Raphinha after the latter suffered an injury scare during Brazil’s World Cup victory over Haiti.

The incident has sparked concern in both the Brazilian national team camp and at Barcelona, where club officials are anxiously awaiting the results of medical examinations. 

With Raphinha playing a crucial role for both club and country, any lengthy absence would come as a significant blow.

While the full extent of the problem remains unknown for now, the early signs were worrying enough to force the winger off before half-time.

The Barcelona attacker started the match brightly and thought he had given his side an early lead, although the goal was eventually ruled out for a marginal offside decision.

The winger remained heavily involved and came close again shortly afterwards, attempting an audacious chipped effort that beat the goalkeeper but drifted narrowly wide of the post.

Brazil were in complete control of the contest, and suddenly, Raphinha required treatment. 

Following a brief discussion with the medical staff, it became clear that his evening was coming to an end.

Rayan replaced the Barcelona forward, whose reaction suggested he knew something was not right.

The injury is believed to be muscular in nature, although official confirmation is still pending.

Vinicius reacts as Brazil await medical verdict

The injury has not only concerned Barcelona supporters but also Raphinha’s teammates within the Brazilian squad.

Speaking after the match, Vinicius expressed sympathy for his international teammate and highlighted how important he has become for the national team.

“Getting injured is always a complicated matter, isn’t it? Especially for him, who is a very important player for us.”

Vinicius also acknowledged the difficulties Raphinha has already faced this season due to recurring fitness issues.

“He has suffered a lot from injuries this season. We hope it’s not serious and that he can continue with us until the end of the World Cup,” he added.
