Como fly to Madrid for Nico Paz talks while Inter consider sales to fund first bid

Monday’s reports claim that representatives from Como will fly to Madrid to hold further talks for Nico Paz, while Inter are considering potential sales to fund an offer for the Argentina international.

Como hold out hope for Nico Paz stay, Inter require sales first

Paz finds himself in the middle of a love-triangle involving Como, Inter and Real Madrid. Como currently own the player, Madrid have an option to buy the talented youngster back for a low-cost fee and Inter are keen to snatch him away from both sides according to reports over the last few weeks.

Paz has spent the last two seasons with Como, having joined in a low-cost deal that included a 50% sell-on clause and a series of favourable buy-back options for Real Madrid. The 15-time Champions League winners are able to bring the Argentine back to the Bernabeu for just €9m this summer.

However, it remains to be seen where Paz will be playing his football in 2026-27. Como have made it clear that they wish to keep hold of the 21-year-old heading into their first ever season in the Champions League, and there have been suggestions that the player himself is keen to continue playing under Fabregas.

Inter are also said to be keen on signing Paz this summer, but this will likely require Madrid to activate their buy-back option and then an offer of €60m to bring him to San Siro.

It is expected that Como will not be able to invest €60m on Paz if Madrid activate their buy-back option, so their last hope is to convince Madrid against activating their buy-back clause for another year at least.

According to reports from the Corriere dello Sport, Como sporting director Carlalberto Ludi will fly to Madrid within the next few days in an attempt to convince Madrid into leaving Paz where he is for another season.

Inter, meanwhile, will need to move players on if they are to fund a €60m offer for Paz this summer. Corriere dello Sport reports that the club’s owners have set aside €50m for the signing of Marco Palestra from Atalanta, but beyond that, any further funds will have to be raised through sales.

Among the list of players who could be sacrificed in order to fund a bid for Paz include Alexander Stankovic, valued in the region of €40m, Davide Frattesi, Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Andy Diouf. The Nerazzurri are also expected to move on a number of 2025-26 loanees such as Benjamin Pavard, Kristjan Asllani and Ebenizer Akinsanmiro.
