Olivier Pantaloni is set to be named the new manager of OGC Nice on a two-year deal, as per a report from Ouest-France.
Nice survived in Ligue 1 by the skin of their teeth by beating AS Saint-Étienne in a two-legged promotion/ relegation play-off. It was Claude Puel who presided over the club’s decline towards the relegation zone, having been appointed on an interim basis back in December.
However, he will not remain in his post. Whilst there is still uncertainty surrounding the club, the club have been in the market for a replacement. INEOS had been in talks to sell the club, although Nice-Matin understands that the deal, negotiated with American investors, has fallen through.
That will not prevent them from appointing a new manager. The chosen candidate is Olivier Pantaloni, who left FC Lorient at the end of the season, having led them to a comfortable mid-table finish in Ligue 1. The Corsican is set to sign a two-year deal.
