Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how World Cup Pulse (“we”, “us”), a service operated by VR Tech at worldcuppulse.co, handles information when you visit our site. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and, where required, only with your consent.

The short version

  • You don’t need an account to read the site, and we don’t ask you for your name or email.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies are off by default and load only after you accept them.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Automatic technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, browser/user-agent, timestamps) to operate and secure the service.

Cookies and local storage. We use a small number of first-party items to remember your choices: a consent cookie (wcp-consent), your language preference (NEXT_LOCALE / wcp-locale-auto), and your light/dark theme. These are necessary for the site to work as you expect.

Analytics (consent-based). When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage defaults to denied and is only used after you accept; IP addresses are anonymized.

Advertising (consent-based). We may use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve and, with your consent, personalize ads and measure performance. In the EEA/UK, advertising signals default to denied until you opt in. You can review and control ad personalization at Google My Ad Center and opt out of third-party personalized advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Push notifications (optional). If you opt in to match alerts, your browser’s push subscription endpoint and the teams you choose to follow are stored so we can notify you. This contains no name or email, and you can unsubscribe at any time from your browser.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and secure the site.
  • To measure and improve usage — only with your analytics consent.
  • To display advertising — only with your advertising consent.
  • To send match alerts — only if you subscribe to push notifications.

Service providers we rely on

  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
  • Google — Analytics and AdSense (consent-based).
  • Neon — database; Upstash — caching.
  • AI translation providers (e.g. Anthropic / OpenAI) — to translate article text into supported languages.
  • News content is aggregated from third-party publishers, who are credited and linked.

Your choices and rights

You can accept or reject analytics/advertising cookies via our consent banner, and change your mind by clearing the wcp-consent cookie. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of personalized ads using the links above. Depending on your location (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact us below.

Children

World Cup Pulse is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here.
