Wolves have been warned Ladislav Krejci is likely to leave the club just days after his permanent transfer was confirmed.

The 27-year-old Czech international joined Wolves on loan last summer from Girona.

But despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League to the EFL Championship, a £26million deal became official in early June.

The Molineux outfit struggled last season but Krejci was one of few stars who came out of it with their reputation intact.

And reports have linked him with several moves including to Leeds United and Besiktas.

He was then picked for his nation’s 2026 World Cup squad and was named captain by manager Miroslav Koubek.

In the opening game, Czechia were beaten 2-1 by South Korea with Krejci getting the first goal.

Ahead of their second game with South Africa, former Premier League star Micky Gray discussed his future.

He said: “Ladislav Krejci had a very good first game, obviously got himself on the score sheet.

“A lot of talk about him maybe leaving. I know he was on loan at Wolves last season, but he’s a talented centre-half and I’m sure there’s a lot of Premier League sides to be keeping an eye on how he performs in these games.

Danter added: “I can’t believe he’ll stay in the Championship, Mick.”

Gray replied: “I don’t know. He’s got too much talent, hasn’t he?”

“He’s clearly enjoyed his time at Wolves,” Danter said.

“But I think there are bigger opportunities for him.

“And what better way to display those qualities than at a World Cup.”

And against South Africa, while he couldn’t stop the Czechs being held to a 1-1 draw, he was named FIFA Player of the Match.

Krejci has at least one more chance to impress any potential suitors at the World Cup.

The Czech Republic face Mexico in a must-win Group A match on Thursday, June 25 at 2am (BST).
