Italy international Sandro Tonali could be on the move this summer with a number of Premier League clubs including Tottenham and Manchester City circling over St James’ Park, but how much would Milan receive if their former midfielder does end up leaving Newcastle this summer?
How much will Milan earn if Newcastle sell Tonali this summer?
According to reports from various outlets in Italy and the UK, Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham have had an initial offer for Tonali turned down by Newcastle. Some sources claim that Tottenham’s original bid was for €86m (£75m), some cite a fee closer to €92m (£80m).
Spurs are not the only ones interested in the 32-time Italy international, as Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been mentioned as potential destinations for the midfielder, who will be without European football if he remains with Newcastle next season.
Tonali joined Newcastle from Milan three years ago in the summer of 2023. The Rossoneri reportedly pocketed around €70m from the transfer with bonuses included, but did not negotiate a sell-on clause with Newcastle according to reports from Calciomercato.com.
Despite their lack of a sell-on clause, Milan will still be entitled to a small cut of the proceedings if Tonali does leave Newcastle this summer.

That means that if Tonali were to move to another Premier League side this summer, 5% of the transfer fee would be owed to the clubs that the midfielder represented between the ages of 12 and 23: Piacenza, Brescia and Milan.
It is estimated that Milan would earn somewhere between €1m-€1.8m in solidarity payments if Tonali is sold by Newcastle this summer, depending on the eventual transfer fee.
