The best European clubs are actively scouting for their next signings and AC Roma is definitely one of them. One of Italy’s top-tier clubs is preparing for the nexty season, so let’s analyze some of the recent rumors and see what fans can expect to see.

Malen is the Summer’s Main Confirmed Arrival

May 26, 2026, was a very important day for AS Roma fans because the club completed the permanent signing of Donyell Malen. It was one of those things that even betting sites allowed people to wager on after the latest Roma news, and fans are happy to finally see the transfer happen. The Dutch forward signed a contract until June 30, 2030. As you know, he actually arrived in Rome in January and scored 15 goals in 20 matches since then. Needless to say, this was enough for the club to want to keep him away from Aston Villa. 

Now that Malen is a permanent part of the team, he will reshape the club’s attacking plan. Roma will have the opportunity to look for a complementary attacker who is capable of playing wide and creating chances. Malen’s place, movement and pressing intensity make him a solid choice and it’s safe to say he will be the centerpiece of the 2026/2027 season.

Baldanzi and Abdulhamid are Official Departures

Outside of signing in new players, AS Roma also decided to part ways with some of them. June 19 was when the club announced that it would part ways with  Tommaso Baldanzi, who will head over to Genoa on a loan. This move was expected after he played for Genoa in the second half of the season. 

We do not have official information about the financial terms, but the media in Italy reports that the transfer is worth around 9.5M EUR. What’s very interesting is that the loan comes with the obligation to buy, which means that Baldanzi will keep playing for his new club.

Saud Abdulhamid is the second name to leave AS Roma. Lens decided to activate its option to buy and announced its plans on June 4. Before that, the Saudi player took part in 8 matches and scored one goal for Roma. With that said, he was not a core player in Gasperini’s current setup, and it seems like he would not have been a part of his future plans either. 

Mason Greenwood Might be The Next Addition

When talking about AS Roma and the transfer window, we have to address Mason Greenwood. He remains the summer’s biggest story because people are eagerly waiting for him to join the Italian club. With that said, Roma has not announced a deal yet and reports in Italy claim that Marseille wants close to 50M EUR for his signature. 

Alongside that amount, the French team also wants 5M EUR in bonuses and there is a release clause, which means that his potential price could reach up to 60M EUR. None of these amounts has been confirmed yet, so we will have to wait to see whether they are final.

Assuming the transfer takes place, Greenwood will add a left-footed scorer. This will give Gasperini another player who can carry the ball and shoot from distance. The only downside is the price because, assuming the transfer takes place, it will be a major financial commitment for the team. Keep in mind that Greenwood’s 2023 legal case makes the transfer even more controversial and some fans petitioned against it. It will be interesting to see what will happen. 

AC Roma Wants Alajbegović, but the Competition is Fierce

Kerim Alajbegović is an interesting young attacking alternative that AS Roma seems very interested in. The bad news for the Yellow and Reds is that they are not the only team that wants Bayer Leverkusen’s talent. There are rumors that clubs like Arsenal, Napoli, Inter, Manchester City, Benfica and Borussia Dortmund are all interested, so we’ll have to wait to see which team he’ll end up on

Dovbyk and Salah-Eddine Could Be Next

The recent news revealed that Trabzonspor were interested in signing in Artem Dovbyk, but it seems like Roma rejected the offer. Some news outlets in Turkey believe that the club will try to sign the player again, but this time with a better offer. 

Speaking of outgoing players, PSV have been linked with a permanent deal for Anass Salah-Eddine. The Dutch squad offered 7.5M EUR, which reports say that AS Roma rejected, but we would not be surprised if there is another offer soon.
