Dan Burn shared how some of the England squad spent some downtime at a country music concert but they were under strict rules.
The Three Lions were given a day off by manager Thomas Tuchel on Friday after their 4-2 victory over Croatia.
Harry Kane scored twice as England claimed a 4-2 win over CroatiaGettyThe Newcastle player recently revealed that some of Harry Kane‘s favourite artists included Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan and Luke Combs.
They decided it was a great opportunity to go to a gig, alongside training goalkeeper Jason Steele, with the defender dressed up in a cowboy outfit.
Burn revealed: “It was a friends and family day, so my wife flew over from Dallas and I got to spend the day with her.
“And then last night, Ella Langley was playing. I like country music, so I had a cowboy hat on and cowboy boots, and luckily, there’s no photos kicking about.
“I got kitted out. If you’re going to do it, do it properly.
“I had a good time, because Ella is an amazing country artist, so it was nice that we got to do those things.
“Steelly came with us and Harry came with us too.
“Harry is [a big fan]. I know Harry is. We’ve got a record player in the hotel and he did a captain’s pick and a lot of it is country music.
“Ella was playing on West Palm Beach when we were there, but we wouldn’t have got back for the curfew, so I’m glad that we’ve got another opportunity.”
Langley is best known for her viral song ‘Choosin Texas’, which was top of the charts in America and hit No12 in the UK.
Langley is currently touring all over the US right nowGettyAs Tuchel’s team prepare for their clash against Ghana, they have been working tirelessly in training, playing another behind-closed-doors friendly last week.
England also travelled to America ahead of the World Cup to play pre-tournament games against fellow national sides Costa Rica and New Zealand.
They spent time in Miami, Florida to get used to the intense heat and Burn revealed they had planned to see the artist in the Sunshine state.
However, it would have meant they would have broken their curfew.
When talking about the Missouri concert, he added: “Harry and Steeley managed to meet Ella before the gig, but I turned up a little bit later.
“But we missed the last three songs because we had to be back for curfew, which I was a bit gutted about because those are her best ones.”
Kane and Burn also attended a baseball game alongside Djed Spence and their manager, earlier this weekGettyView this post on Instagram
Kane posted pictures from the concert on his Instagram, with one showing him and the singer posing for a picture and holding an England shirt.
He wrote: “Great to meet you @ellalangleymusic, thank you for having us!
“Amazing show, keep smashing it!”
Kane and Bellingham are leaders
The defender followed up with compliments about the England captain and also Jude Bellingham, explaining how they are both leaders in this current group and are vital for the squad.
He added: “I think they’re both leaders of the group playing for top clubs in the peak of their careers. I know Jude’s 12 or whatever, but he’s still there!
“So he’s still got a long way to go, but it feels like he’s a big player for us.
“That’s important. I think for any team who have got world-class players, to keep them fit and firing and scoring goals, you need that little bit of luck to get you through the latter stages of the tournament.
“But I think for Harry to score the goals he did and Jude as well, I thought he was all over the pitch.
“I really feel like Jude’s one of those players where you can really feel when he’s on it. He sort of sets the tone sometimes. If he goes flying into a tackle with three minutes gone, it really gives you that energy. Like ‘wow, Jude’s on it today, I’ve got to raise my level a little bit.’
“He’s got that about him. So to see him start the tournament well, I was really pleased for him.”
Burn did not play during the Croatia game however he started in a friendly against Sporting Kansas City, to ensure match fitness if needed against Ghana.
