Scotland fans are making up for lost time after making the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

After watching John McGinn secure a nervy 1-0 win over Haiti in Boston, the Tartan Army decided to take in a more local experience.

Fenway Park is possibly the most iconic venue in baseball, but it has never seen scenes like Sunday night.

After respectfully listening to The Star-Spangled Banner, Flower of Scotland took over.

The Boston Red Sox hosts were a step ahead of the curve, designating Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers as ‘Scottish Heritage Night’ and placed between the Scots first two World Cup group games in the city.

The Tartan Army led a fan march from Evans Way Park to the ballpark, featuring plenty of bagpipes and tartan in a city long associated with Ireland.

Well over 5,000 reportedly took part belting out chants of ‘Super John McGinn’ while wearing free shirts featuring the Red Sox logo and a Scotland flag.

Mascots wore kilts as Boston fully embraced its guests from across the pond, who will take on Morocco at Gillette Stadium — rebranded Boston Stadium — on Friday.

“The Scottish in Boston is the best thing to happen here since Brady was drafted,” noted one fan on social media.

“I’ve seen enough get Scotland in the World Baseball Classic just so their fans keep showing up at ballparks,” added another.

“That was a pretty cool atmosphere,” said Rangers manager Skip Schumaker. “I said my bucket list is to be at a European game one day with my kids and that was probably as close to it as you can get as far as the atmosphere. That was pretty special.”

“It reminded me of the ’21 postseason game,” added starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi. “It was a super electric crowd, and I feel like it heightens the focus when I go out there.”

The Rangers took a 6-4 victory but lost the series 2-1.

Scotland will be taking the show down the East Coast after the clash with Morocco.

The final Group C game is a clash with Brazil in Miami.

Scotland dreaming of World Cup knockouts

After crashing out in 1998, victory over Haiti has given the Tartan Army hope of extending the party into the knockout stages.

“I’m tired but absolutely delighted with my players; resilience, character, everything about this group of players had to be on the pitch tonight and it was,” admitted manager Steve Clark.

“Not relief. Everyone told us it was a must-win game and we won the game. If it is a must-win game and you win, I think you can be happy with yourselves.

“The next two games against teams inside the world’s top 10 will be tough games. But obviously we go into them with a little bit less pressure than everybody put on us going into this game.

“And as well as everyone [else], we put a lot of pressure on ourselves going into the first game so we go into the next two games with a little less pressure.

“If we defend as well as we did there and show the same resilience, and hopefully play a little bit better with the ball and create a little bit more, we’ll be okay.”

Morocco and Brazil drew their opener 1-1 leaving Scotland top of the group for now.
