La Tri dominated in terms of possession and their attacking attempts, but failed to find a way through against the Caribbean side's defence, led by goalkeeper Eloy Room, who produced 15 incredible saves, setting a new World Cup record for a single match. The Rossoneri full-back delivered a solid performance down the left flank, producing many attacking opportunities. With this draw, Ecuador's journey becomes a little more challenging as they now must win against Germany to keep their hopes of advancing alive.
