Kaka backs Real Madrid superstar duo for the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot

Brazilian legend Kaka has backed two Real Madrid forwards to fight for the World Cup Golden Boot, naming Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior as his picks.

Speaking to ESPN UK, Kaka was asked for two candidates to finish as the tournament’s top scorer. His answer was clear:

“Mbappe for sure, then Vini Jr.”

The former Los Blancos player has tipped two current Real Madrid stars to lead the race in this tournament, and it makes sense.

Both players are capable of turning the tournament with decisive moments. They have already scored three and two goals respectively so far.

Mbappe being named first is no surprise. He has built his reputation on the biggest stages, and when the World Cup comes around, he tends to look made for the occasion.

His speed, finishing and ability to attack space make him one of the hardest players in football to defend.

In knockout football, where games can be tight and opponents leave only a few gaps, that kind of ruthlessness can decide everything.

If Mbappe enters the new season with another strong World Cup behind him, his confidence and status will only grow.

Vinicius can make his own statement

Vinicius being Kaka’s second pick is just as interesting. The Brazilian has the talent, personality and explosiveness to dominate matches, but the World Cup offers him another kind of stage.

With Brazil, the 25-year-old Real Madrid megastar carries a different emotional weight. He is one of many stars at the club but is still in the process of proving himself wearing the Selecao colours.

If he is sharp in front of goal, he can absolutely enter the Golden Boot conversation.

His movement has improved, his final ball has become more decisive and his ability to draw defenders creates chances even when he is not scoring.

Kaka’s comment is a compliment to the club’s recruitment and attacking power. Mbappe and Vinicius are different players, but together they represent what Real Madrid want to be: fast, fearless and decisive.

The Golden Boot race will depend on form, fixtures and how far France and Brazil go. It remains to be seen whether Kaka’s prediction comes true by the end of the tournament.
