England have had a few days off in the lead up to their second World Cup group game but things are set to get serious again tonight.

Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions got off to a winning start last Wednesday as they beat Croatia 4-2 in a thrilling opener in Dallas.

They are among the favourites to lift the trophy in North America this summer and kicked things off with an impressive three points.

England were pegged back twice in the first half against Croatia after Harry Kane scored twice, with one coming from the spot.

But in the second half, Tuchel’s side stepped things up and goals from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford got the job done in style.

That was only the first step towards glory and their World Cup campaign continues against Ghana this evening.

The Black Stars beat Panama 1-0 in Wednesday’s other Group L tie with Caleb Yirenkyi scoring a 95th-minute winner.

England vs Ghana: Date and how to follow

Up next for England will be a clash with four-time AFCON champions Ghana tonight – Tuesday, June 23.

The game will kick off at 9pm BST, 4pm local time.

It will be played at Gillette Stadium in Boston, home to six-time Super Bowl winners the New England Patriots.

Boasting a capacity of almost 65,000, the stadium was the scene of both Scotland’s win over Haiti and their defeat to Morocco.

England vs Ghana: Head-to-head

This will be only the second meeting between England and Ghana – and the first in a competitive international.

Their only previous encounter came back in March 2011 in a friendly at Wembley, which finished 1-1.

Andy Carroll opened the scoring for Fabio Capello’s Three Lions that night with his first England goal.

But Asamoah Gyan bagged a stoppage-time equaliser for Ghana.

England have faced African opposition on eight previous occasions at the World Cup, never losing.

The most recent such game came in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup as Jordan Henderson, Kane and Bukayo Saka scored in a 3-0 win over Senegal.
